CJ founded CloudFinOpsKit and builds its cost assessment tools for Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, along with the FinOps Agent. The guides on this site come out of that work: most of them started as a check the tools needed, and the guide records what we had to verify to build it.
How the guides are written
- Primary sources first. Pricing, eligibility rules and limits are checked against the provider's own documentation or the FinOps Foundation, and linked where it matters. Where a guide says "checked on" a date, that's when the sources were last verified.
- Our product is labelled as ours. When CloudFinOpsKit appears in a comparison, it is marked as our own, and we say when a free native tool or another platform is the better choice.
- No paid placements. No vendor pays to appear in, or be left out of, anything we publish.
- Numbers we can't source, we don't use. If a statistic has no primary source, it doesn't go in.
- Corrections. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we'll fix it and update the page's date.
